The utensil holder is beautiful. The natural olive wood looks great, and absolutely sparkled after a coat of the oil I use in my wooden cutting board. The three stars are because: 1) Wood had clearly dried out and was pulling apart at some of the seams. Not unexpected for a natural wood item, but I suspect a solid coat of protective oil up front might’ve helped. 2) Item doesn’t quite sit level and there’s visible distortion on one side. Goes beyond manufacturing variance and seems to be a defect. 3) Top of the item is not flush either. One corner has a ~1/8” rise over the adjacent piece. For both of these things, 60 seconds with a bandsaw at the end of the construction process would’ve made it much better. Great and beautiful item that I’ll be keeping, especially at the price, but QC could be better!
